Into the Unknown Together
Into the Unknown Together is a community climate anthology. It features stories, artwork, essays, poetry & more, imagining a collective future by the people of New Mexico.
Autumn is the creator, creative director, and designer for this project.
In order to build the future we want, we must first be able to imagine it. Into the Unknown Together was created as an invitation to dream a collective future with community members who live in the same high desert region.
Held as an open contest for anyone living in the ecoregion of New Mexico, 33 writers and artists were selected by a panel of community thought leaders. The anthology collects together diverse views of both probable and fantastical futures and shares them back into the wider community.
Into the Unknown Together was the recipient of the Anonymous was a Woman Environmental Art Grant given by New York Foundation for the Arts. The printed anthology has been donated to libraries, schools, and organizations across NM and is now available for sale.

Currently the project is expanding to feature more community visions in the digital space as well as in-person workshops and student collaborations, starting with UNM’s Art and Ecology students.
